Thousands Evacuate Ahead Of Hurricane Laura

Hurricane Laura is now a Category Four storm. The National Hurricane Center in Miami describes the hurricane heading toward the Texas and Louisiana coast as extremely dangerous.

Laura's maximum sustained winds are at 140 miles-per-hour, ten higher than required to be a Category Four storm. It warns of catastrophic storm surge, extreme winds and flash flooding along the northwest Gulf Coast tonight. A million and a half people have been told to evacuate.
