Jobless Texans can expect more unemployment benefits to be coming their way soon. Governor Greg Abbott announced on Friday that federal officials had approved the state's request for a grant to fund an extra 300 dollars a week in benefits for Texans who lost their jobs because of the pandemic. The Texas Workforce Commission says eligible Texans who make their regular request for payment should start receiving the extra money more or less immediately.
