Coronavirus Pandemic Takes Toll On Texas Funeral Industry

The coronavirus death toll is putting pressure on the funeral industry, which has been flooded with work. But Gene Allen, president of the Texas Funeral Directors Association, says they're not raking in the cash. Many Texans have lost their jobs and can't afford a big funeral. Allen says the funeral industry has been forced to become high tech. They're streaming services to get around rules for large gatherings. He says some directors have become creative and held funerals outside with the service on a big screen.
