Texans Playing Limited Role In Democratic National Convention

Texas Democrats aren't playing a major role in the party's virtual national convention so far. Actress Eva Longoria, a ninth-generation Texan, was the MC when the convention opened on Monday night. Several other Texans also put in appearances, including failed presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke. On Tuesday night, state Representative Victoria Neave and U.S. Representative Colin Allred shared keynoting duties, while U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar of El Paso cast the state's votes for Joe Biden. No Texan will give a solo prime-time speech at the convention, which wraps up on Thursday.
