Metro Health reports COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to improve in Bexar County. As of Friday, there were 651 patients hospitalized, with 306 in ICU and 195 on ventilators.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg also reported 150 new cases of COVID-19. Nirenberg says the moving-day average is now at 213 over the week. That brings the overall total number of cases to 43,823 since the pandemic began.
Officials did report 18 new deaths. Some of the deaths date back to June and were being investigated. There have now been a total of 578 deaths since March.
