Members of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus are introducing a bill they call the George Floyd Act that aims to reform policing in the state. State Representative Nicole Collier of Fort Worth says changes are needed. The act would ban chokeholds and mandate proportional response by officers. The legislation is named after George Floyd, the man who grew up in Houston and died while being arrested by officers in Minneapolis.
