Texas-Based American Airlines Bans Masks With Vents

Texas-based American Airlines is joining other airline companies prohibiting a certain type of face mask. The company says its passengers are no longer allowed to wear a face mask with exhaust valves or vents.

The decision comes as the CDC reports those kind of face coverings allow exhaled air and respiratory droplets out, which could further the spread of COVID-19. Well-secured cloth or other masks are required by American.

The airliner joins United, Delta and JetBlue in banning face masks with valves or vents.
