The border wall is getting an extension near Laredo. Customs and Border Protection says a contract to build an extra 17 miles of border barrier has been awarded to Fisher Industries in the amount of nearly 290 million dollars. The extension will consist of a contiguous line of tall steel bollards in Webb County on the Mexican border. The San Marcos Corridor News reports today that the new construction will happen in an area where no wall or barrier currently exists.
