Latinos Make Up Greater Proportion Of Coronavirus Deaths in Texas

Some new numbers show how the pandemic is affecting the Hispanic population in Texas. Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia of Houston says Latinos are 40% of the state's population, but account for nearly half the deaths from coronavirus.

She says part of the problem is that many Latinos work on the front lines, in places like restaurants, which have reopened in Texas.

But Garcia also claims state leaders aren't providing Spanish-language programs aimed at promoting mask-wearing.
