Hurricane Hanna Makes Landfall On Padre Island

Hurricane Hanna is slamming the Texas coast with winds of 90 miles per hour after making landfall at 5 p.m. on Padre Island about 15 miles north of Port Mansfield.

Officials are warning residents southwest of Corpus Christi of life-threatening flooding. The slow-moving hurricane will bring torrential rain and a storm surge. The National Weather Service says there has already been significant structural damage in Port Mansfield. Severe damage to Bob Hall Pier was also reported on Padre Island.
