Former Florida Congressman Allen West is now head of the Texas Republican Party. Senate district caucuses elected West early this morning over incumbent Chair James Dickey.
West tweeted he is humbled by the honor and looks forward to working for Texas and Texans.
He moved to Texas from Florida in 2014. West vastly outspent Dickey in the race saying he wanted to make the Texas GOP more aggressive and better known nationally.
Dickey said he was focused on winning elections.
