COVID-19 couldn't keep friends and family from honoring CHARLIE DANIELS at his memorial service in Tennessee on Friday.Several country stars shared their stories of how much he meant to them. TRACE ADKINS performed his song "Arlington" . . . and talked about the time he sang "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" . . . with Charlie IN the audience. When he finished Charlie nodded and gave him a big smile. TRAVIS TRITT recalled how Charlie had a deep faith in God, but he was "never judgmental or preachy about his beliefs."He sang "Amazing Grace". VINCE GILL told a great story that happened a million years ago when he was in the band Pure Prairie League. They were supposed to open for Charlie in San Diego, but their bass player got arrested, and they couldn't do the show without a bassist. Charlie encouraged Vince to do the show by himself. It was his first time performing solo, and it gave him the confidence he needed.Vince also honored him with an unplugged version of "Go Rest High On That Mountain".
