FAA Plans New Environmental Review Of SpaceX Site In Texas

Some of the locals aren't happy that SpaceX, the private spaceflight company run by Elon Musk, is increasing its testing in South Texas. There are now plans to use the facility on Boca Chica Beach as a full-scale launch site. Professor Stefanie Herweck at UT Rio Grande Valley says the company's current activities exceed what was looked at in a 2014 environmental impact statement, so the FAA will decide if a new study is needed. Herweck says SpaceX is closing the beach several days a week for testing.
