Texas State Fair Canceled Putting Texas-Oklahoma Game In Question

The Texas State Fair has been canceled this fall in Dallas because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The annual Red River Rivalry matchup between Texas and Oklahoma is played at the Cotton Bowl on the fairgrounds.

OU athletic director Joe Castiglione told CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd he is hopeful the game can still be played October 10th at the Cotton Bowl, but acknowledges "every aspect of our season requires constant monitoring and planning."

Texas also hopes to be able to play the game and team officials say so far the game is still on.

Prairie View A&M and Grambling are also scheduled to play September 26th at the Cotton Bowl.

It is the first time since World War Two the state fair will not open.
