U.S. Army Confirms Missing Soldier's Body Found

The U.S. Army is confirming the body of a missing Fort Hood soldier was discovered last month. Specialist Vanessa Guillen's remains were found along the Leon River near Fort Hood.

She'd been missing since late April. Her family had long suspected the remains were those of Guillen. They also claimed the 20-year-old had been sexually harassed while at Fort Hood but post leadership refused to do anything about it. Fort Hood is investigating the sexual harassment claims.

A civilian is in custody in connection with Guillen's disappearance and death. The Army says a soldier committed suicide last week before he could be arrested in connection with Guillen's disappearance.
