Investigators say human remains have been found during the search for missing Fort Hood soldier Private First Class Vanessa Guillen. Yesterday, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division officials confirmed that human remains were found near the Leon River east of the base. The remains were discovered during a search of the area on June 22nd. The statement says "no confirmation as to the identity of the remains has been made at this point." The remains were discovered in a shallow grave. Guillen disappeared from the base on April 22nd.
