Supreme Court Won't Force Texas To Send Mail-in Ballots To Residents

The United States Supreme Court is declining to force the state of Texas to send mail-in ballots to all registered voters because of COVID-19. The Texas Democratic Party had requested the high court reinstate a district court judge's order that would expand the state's offering to those under 65. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote that the emergency request was not necessary, and that she hoped the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals would "consider the merits" before the November election.
