Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody is joining the call for the Texas Rangers to investigate the death of Javier Ambler. Sheriff Chody issued a statement yesterday saying Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore has had the case since March 2019, and it is time for additional assistance from the Texas Rangers to be brought in to move things along. Last week, state Senator John Whitmire also called on DA Moore and Austin Police Chief Brian Manley to bring in the Rangers. Javier Ambler died in March of 2019 when he was tased by a Williamson County Sheriff's deputy after a traffic chase.
