Officials are identifying the man found dead with his family at a home in Stone Oak last week. The Medical Examiner's Office identified him as 38-year-old Jared Harless. The Army says Harless was a soldier assigned to JBSA-Fort Sam Houston with the 470th Military Intelligence Brigade, but didn't give his rank. Officers performing a welfare check at the home on Red Willow found the bodies of Harless, his 36-year-old wife, and their four young children, two sons and two daughters, in an SUV in the garage. There was a noxious smell that turned out to be carbon monoxide. The case is still under investigation.
