Governor Greg Abbott is expressing condolences to George Floyd's family on behalf of the state of Texas. Abbott says he spoke to the family on Wednesday night and expressed sorrow for the loss of a native Texan. The governor says he promised to work to make sure that what happened to Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police won't happen here. Abbott says Floyd's family told him George was proud to be a Texan. He told them he was giving them a flag that was flown over the Capitol in Austin in Floyd's honor.
