Former BCSO Deputy Faces Charges Of Firing Shots, Resisting Arrest

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office says a deputy who was arrested is out of a job. San Antonio police arrested 41-year-old Luis Lopez after he reportedly fired a handgun about ten times outside his home on the South Side. Officers say Lopez then resisted arrest. Police also arrested Lopez's wife, 40-year-old Valerie Lopez, on a charge of interfering with a public servant. Luis Lopez resigned after his arrest, and Sheriff Javier Salazar issued him a dishonorable discharge.
