Governor Greg Abbott says the state's driver's license offices will open next week but will require an appointment. The governor announced that offices in Northwest and West Texas will resume operations by appointment on Tuesday, May 26th. South and Central Texas offices will re-open on May 29th, with the North and Southeast regions to open on June 3rd. The Department of Public Safety is launching a statewide system to book appointments by region with an option to choose times up to six-months out.
