A federal judge says border wall surveying can happen on land adjacent to the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge. Border Report said yesterday the judge's decision is contrary to a congressional decision to exempt the land and protect it from the border wall activity. Texas Civil Rights Project attorney Ricky Garza says the refuge is one of the largest protected areas in the Rio Grande Valley. The park has been closed due to the coronavirus shutdown. Wildlife and environmental activists oppose the border wall project in the area.
