Metro Health officials reported 93 new cases of COVID-19 in Bexar County from over the weekend. There are now 2,213 confirmed cases of the virus in the area, including 1,099 who have recovered. The death toll remains at 62.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg says the city can now conduct 3,000 COVID-19 tests per day. The mayor said the number had been a goal for local health experts, adding that they reached the benchmark two weeks ahead of schedule. Assistant city manager Doctor Colleen Bridger said health officials are looking to increase testing for asymptomatic people.
