City Council Rejects 60-Day Extension Of Eviction Process

San Antonio City Council is turning down a move to add another 60-days to the eviction process in the city. Council members narrowly voted down the measure on Thursday. The requirement of a "notice of proposed eviction" 60 days before issuing a "notice to vacate" was intended to give tenants affected by the pandemic a chance to catch up on their rent before the eviction process started. Similar ordinances are now in place in Austin and Dallas.
