Local Utility Heads Discuss Dealings With Customers During Pandemic

The heads of local utilities say nobody's going to be disconnected during the coronavirus pandemic. CPS Energy CEO Paula Gold-Williams and San Antonio Water System CEO Robert Puente say their respective utilities have suspended disconnections for now, and called on customers to contact them about payment plans if necessary. They also said their employees are being protected from the virus.

Gold-Williams said, "we have suspended the disconnection process. We continue to send you bills so you can see what the consumptions are, but our energy advisors who answer the phone are always ready and willing to work with you. We want you to call us. We want to be there for you."
