The FBI has made an arrest in connection with social media threats towards Walmart in El Paso.
"This arrest should serve as a reminder that the El Paso FBI has zero tolerance for anyone who threatens to do harm to others, especially after August, 2019. Anyone who makes a social media post threatening to be a potential active shooter should expect to be identified and prosecuted," stated Special Agent in Charge Luis M. Quesada. "The El Paso FBI, El Paso Police Department, and ATF worked together to rapidly investigate this threat so we could keep our community safe."
On August 3, 2019, a gunman opened fire at the Cielo Vista Walmart store in El Paso, killing 23 and wounding more than 20 others.
