Visit San Antonio Announces Furloughs, Pay Cuts

Nearly half the staff members of Visit San Antonio are being furloughed, and the rest have pay cuts on the way. President and CEO Casandra Matej announced Thursday that the tourism boosting group is furloughing 40 of their 82-member staff. Matej says the decision was made in order to keep Visit San Antonio afloat financially in the midst of greatly reduced tourist traffic caused by the pandemic. He says the remaining staff will have salary cuts based on their position. The changes take effect Monday and will likely last through July 31st.
