Around 39,000 American Airlines employees are either retiring early, going on leave, or taking a pay cut. The Texas-based air carrier made the announcement today saying the moves are being done to reduce expenses due to coronavirus. CEO Doug Parker expects American to keep shrinking, including a 70% cut in June flights. The company has lost over two-billion-dollars during the pandemic after making almost one-point-six-billion last year. They're still hoping to avoid any furloughs.
