Metro Health Reports Fewer Hospitalized From Coronavirus

Metro Health is reporting 1,167 cases of coronavirus cases in Bexar County since the pandemic began. That's up 41 from Wednesday. There have been an additional 4 deaths reported. All four of the patients who died had underlying health problems. The total number of deaths now stands at 43.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg reports there are now 64 people hospitalized. That's down from 79 a day earlier. 32 people are in ICU and 20 on ventilators. Officials say those numbers are also lower numbers than in recent days.

Officials say the hospital capacity is still in good shape and there are positive signs of things trending in the right direction, but they still urged residents to continue to social distance and wear masks in public to curtail the spread of the virus.
