Texas Moves To Allow SNAP Recipients To Order Groceries Online

Texas is asking to be included in a pilot program that enables SNAP recipients to order groceries online. Right now, the SNAP system's Lone Star Card can only be used to buy groceries in-store, per the Department of Agriculture, which runs the program. To keep safe during the pandemic, many Texans order groceries online and have them delivered, but SNAP recipients aren't allowed to. The pilot program was started this month, and is only available through Walmart, Amazon, and some local grocery stores in a few states.
