Houston Police Officers' Union Asks For AG Ruling On Mask Requirements

Houston Police Officers' Union President Joe Gamaldi wants the state government to weigh in on whether people should be forced to wear masks in public. Gamaldi says he's asked Attorney General Ken Paxton to rule on whether it's legal to impose a fine for those not wearing a mask. He also says it makes sense to wear a mask while out in public to avoid coronavirus, but called any mask order "draconian." Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner are supposed to announce the mask order this afternoon.
