Judge Indicates He'll Expand Voting By Mail Because Of Pandemic

A state district judge says he plans to issue an order making it easier to vote by mail in Texas because of the coronavirus pandemic. State Democrats had sued to bring about the change. Judge Tim Sulak told the lawyers on he'll issue a temporary injunction allowing voters to ask for a mail-in ballot if they're afraid of catching the virus if they vote in person. The ruling is expected to greatly increase the number of mail-in votes in the July primary runoff elections. The state is likely to appeal the ruling after it's issued.
