Metro Health is now reporting 665 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bexar County. Of the total 665 returned positives: 151 are travel related, 243 are close contact, 210 are community transmitted and 61 are under investigation. There have now been 24 deaths.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg said 89 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19. Of those, 56 are in ICU and 44 are on ventilators.
Nirenberg said, "the stress on resources at local hospitals also remains manageable. We have over 2,000 beds available, which is 42% of all staffed hospital beds in Bexar County. This is the result of hospitals canceling all unnecessary procedures.
