More than half of the Lone Star State's 254 counties now report cases of the coronavirus. The Texas death toll from the disease rose to 58 as of Wednesday, up 17 from the day before, and more than twice what it was on Saturday. A total of 135 counties are reporting at least one case of the disease, an increase of 13 counties from the previous day's count. The figures are from the Department of State Health Services. Gov. Greg Abbott has extended the social distancing mandate in Texas through the end of April.
