Easter camping in San Antonio city parks is another victim of the coronavirus. Mayor Ron Nirenberg said Saturday the event is being canceled because of the virus. Basketball courts and playgrounds at parks in San Antonio and Bexar County are also closed until at least April 9th.
Meanwhile, Mayor Ron Nirenberg says the city may have to close all city parks if people don't stop hanging around them in large groups on weekends. On Sunday, the mayor emphasized the importance of social distancing during the coronavirus outbreak, and said the city may take action if people don't comply. Nirenberg thanked businesses for cooperating with the city's stay-at-home order. He says officers have responded to hundreds of calls reporting violations, but they haven't issued any citations because businesses have cooperated with police.
