Existing clients with SNAP and Medicaid will automatically have their benefits renewed. The Texas Health and Human Services made the announcement today saying its going to ensure the coverage during the public health crisis. According to the press release, Texas requested and received federal approval to allow for the extension. Interview requirements have also been waved so people do not need to come into the office to renew their application. According to HHS, SNAPS provides food assistance to roughly one-point-four-million Texans.
