Bexar County Jail Population Down By About 500 During Outbreak

The Bexar County Jail population is down by more than 500 inmates since last week. County officials are enacting policies aimed at slowing the spread of coronavirus at the jail, among both the inmates and the staff. The sheriff's office says the jail housed just over 33-hundred inmates as of Wednesday afternoon, down from more than 38-hundred a week earlier. Officials say not all of the decrease is attributable to coronavirus mitigation efforts.
