Methodist Healthcare Systems Enacts Zero-Visitor Policy

Officials at Methodist Healthcare System have announced some new visitation rules effective today.

They are allowing no visitors into their hospitals with exceptions only for special populations.

In a Facebook post, they said visitation procedures are designed for the safety and all employees. These new procedures are being put in place to limit exposure to respiratory illness and containment of the COVID-19 virus.

Methodist Healthcare System said:

"The health of the community and employees is our top priority. In an abundance of caution, we have implemented several policies that align with all hospitals in San Antonio. We are allowing zero visitors to our hospitals, with exceptions only for special patient populations. Visitation procedures are designed for the safety of all patients and employees, limiting exposure to respiratory illness and containment of the COVID-19 virus. Thank you for your support in keeping our patients, physicians, colleagues and visitors safe."
