Cornyn Suspends Campaign Activities Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Acting DHS Secretary McAleenan Testifies At Senate Hearing On Border Crisis

Senator John Cornyn is calling off all campaign events in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The Texas Republican emailed his supporters on Tuesday, saying he was suspending all fundraising, volunteer efforts and special events related to his campaign. Democrats Royce West, a state senator from Dallas, and MJ Hegar, an Air Force veteran from Round Rock, had earlier stated that they were cutting campaign activities. West and Hegar face off in a May 26th runoff to determine which one runs against Cornyn in November.
