Under an order issued by the Texas Supreme Court, 31 district court judges statewide are empowered to enforce quarantine orders if the need arises. Right now there are no state-ordered coronavirus quarantines in Texas, but if it comes up, an appointed judge will be in a position to issue a quarantine enforcement order at any time. The judges selected are well-versed in state quarantine laws, and provision has been made for some of them to be available after court hours and on weekends.
