Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is criticizing the plan to renovate and redesign the Alamo Plaza. Patrick says the Alamo Master Plan is "badly off track," and blamed the General Land Office for mishandling it. Patrick suggested that the GLO needs oversight in carrying out the plan, which involves renovating the mission and the barracks and adding a visitors center. He opposes plans to relocate the Cenotaph, pointing out that 98-percent of GOP voters in Tuesday's primary supported a measure not to move state monuments.
