Texas-Based Southwest Airlines Expects Financial Hit From Coronavirus

Hundreds Of Southwest Airlines Flights Canceled Since Last Week As Airline Deals With "Operational Emergency"

The coronavirus could cost Southwest Airlines a lot of money in the first quarter of this year. A regulatory filing from the Dallas-based company today said the revenue hit could be anywhere between 200 and 300-million-dollars. That's because Southwest says there isn't as much demand for flights and more trips are being canceled. Dallas County isn't dealing with any coronavirus cases yet, but there is a case in the Houston area.
