TX Secretary Of State Initiates Voter Education Program

The Texas Secretary of State says a new statewide initiative is now underway to make sure Texas voters know what they need to bring to the polls. Secretary Ruth Hughs announced the "Ready, Check, Vote" program on Monday. She says the campaign will inform voters about the seven approved forms of photo ID, which include a driver's license, an election ID certificate, a personal ID card, or a handgun permit, all of which are issued by the DPS. In addition, voters can use a military ID card, a U.S. citizenship certificate, or a passport. The new campaign will also tell voters what to do if they don't have any of these forms.
