Several high level government officials are in the Rio Grande Valley to review border operations. This week, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Defense David Norquist, U.S. Congresswoman Kay Granger and Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Ken Cuccinelli are visiting border protection installations to meet National Guard troops and other Homeland Security team members. Congresswoman Granger is also checking first hand on how federal dollars earmarked for border protection are being invested. She is the ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee.
