SAISD To Ask For $1.25B Bond Issue

Stop Sign on a School Bus

San Antonio ISD officials say they plan to ask voters to approve a bond issue on the November ballot to upgrade aging schools. Almost half of the district's 90 campuses are in need of major renovations. The most needed upgrades are technology, safety and security, plus air conditioning repairs. SAISD plans to seek more than a billion-dollars in the fall election, which should be enough to take care of about 20 schools. The district would then seek a second bond issue for another billion in 2024 for the other schools.
