A fire closed down part of I-37 in Corpus Christi today with flames and smoke pushing into the air. Initial reports were that it was the result of a pipeline rupture and a nearby building also caught on fire. Nearby Miller High School, Oakpark Elementary and Driscoll Middle School were placed under a shelter-in-place order while firefighters fought the blaze. There are no reports of any injuries. An investigation is underway into what caused the rupture.
