Plants can help you reduce stress. Japanese researchers studied workers at an electric company before and after potted plants were brought in. Their findings showed stress levels had decreased after indoor plants were introduced, and a number of employees showed a significant decrease in heart rate. Previous research on the health effects of indoor plants were based on passive interaction with plants.
