San Antonio Zoo Hosts Cry Me a Cockroach Valentine's Day Event

Whether you're wildly in love or on the outs, San Antonio Zoo has created a fun way to celebrate your love or to mend that broken heart! This Valentine's Day, San Antonio Zoo is hosting its first-ever ‘Cry Me a Cockroach’ event. Guests will be able to purchase the name of a live cockroach, and we'll serve it up as a snack to one of our animals. If your ex was a snake, you could even name a rat, and we'll feed it to a reptile! After checkout, you will be able to name your cockroach or rat after your ex.

People will be able to buy a live cockroach, name it after their ex, and watch it be fed to one of the animals. The cockroach costs $5, while the rat will set you back $25.

If you happen to be hippo-ly in love, you can treat your significant other to the Wild at Heart Valentine's Dinner and dine alongside our hippos. This zoo-nique experience includes a mouthwatering gourmet, four-course dinner with your choice of a bold red or crisp white wine. This dinner experience is a 21 and up event. Reservations can be made online at www.sazoo.org/experiences/wildatheart
