Iowa Caucus Result Delayed Because Of "Inconsistencies"

Sen. Bernie Sanders Hosts Watch Party On Night Of Iowa Caucus

Chaos and disarray paralyzed the first contest of the 2020 primary campaign after the Iowa state party announced it had found "inconsistencies" in reporting the results of the Iowa Caucuses. A reporting app appeared failed and so did the phone reporting system. Elections officials across the state are turning to paper backups and in some cases, pictures of results.

Election workers at caucus sites around the state complained that a new smartphone app created for caucus organizers to calculate and report results crashed. They also said state party officials weren't responding to questions.
